Classwork - Becasue we had a fire drill today we only did a few of the problems on deciding if we need 1 equation or 2 for our problems. We did watch a cool video, that ended up showing it was all done with math! https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/roots-of-unity/math-with-ok-go/?wt.mc=SA_Twitter-Share is the link if you want to watch it again.
Homework - problems 4-25 through 4-30 Classwork - we finished the problems in lesson 4.1.1, writing equations from word problems and "let statements" to define the variable.
Homework - Problems 4-14 through 4-19 Classwork - We went over the chapter 3 tests and then started chapter 4, which is solving systems of equations (2 or more equations). Today we were solving word problems by writing equations.
Homework - Problems #4-8 through 4-13 Classwork - We worked on equations for lines that are parallel and perpendicular.
Homework - None! Have a great Thanksgiving Week. Classwork - We reviewed for the chapter test, which is tomorrow.
Homework - More problems from checkpoint #3 - problems : 1, 4, 7, 10, and 13 Classwork - The group quizzes were returned and errors discussed. We worked on the chapter closure problems either on the large whiteboards or in spirals.
Homework - Finish closure problems CL 3-113 - 3-122 Classwork - Group Quiz. This helps you prepare for the Chapter Test, which is on Thursday.
Homework - Checkpoint #3 problems - multiples of 3: 3, 6 ,9,etc. Classwork - We worked on solving different types of equations as review for our Group Quiz on Monday.
Homework - no homework Classwork - Today we summed up the different types of equations we've solved in this chapter - solving for a specific variable, solving absolute value equations, solving equations using the distributive property twice or generic rectangles.
Homework - problems 3-107 - 3-112 ALSO! Finish writing up how to solve |4y-3|=12. You are explaining how to solve an absolute value problem to a student that hasn't solved one before - be sure to explain why there are 2 answers to this problem! |
