Classwork - I passed back the homework sample from last week - students need to check their homework at the Homework Help Site. I checked ONE problem and only 10/35 students had all of the 4 Order of Operations with Integers problems correct! These errors will bring down your test scores! The Groups presented the Algebra Tile Equations the groups wrote on Friday - and added to their lists of things students need to know to solve equations.
Homework - none Classwork - This is the end of the chapter using algebra tiles to SEE equations. We worked on a closure problem building an equation for a "new student", then started the closure problems in the book.
Homework - finish closure problems CL2- 90 through CL2-97. Classwork - We have one more day solving equations using algebra tiles and writing what is happening algebraically.
Homework - problems 2-85 through 2-89. Students need to check the homework help website when they have questions on ANY problem. All problems have help-steps, clues, hints, solutions. The link is on the Resources Page. Classwork - today we used algebra tiles to solve equations so we could see it visually and algebraically.
Homework - problems #2-76 through 2-80 Classwork - We are still working with algebra tiles to see the expressions visually as well as algebraically. Today we are simplifying the expressions and recording it algebraically.
Homework - problems 2-67 through 2-71 Classwork - Today we continued working with algebra tiles and the Comparison mats - today we compared expressions after simplifying with the tiles and algebraically.
Homework- Problems 2-28 through 2-62 Classwork - We used the expression mats to simplify expressions and then compared 2 expression mats to see which expression was greater. We found the "legal" moves that could be used to simplify expressions.
Homework - Problems 2-51 through 2-55 Classwork - We used algebra tiles and Expression mats to show how using zero helps to simplify expressions.
Homework - problems 2-41 through 2-45 Classwork-we went over some of the problems from yesterday, specifically figuring out the perimeter of a complex shape built with algebra tiles. Then we began using Expression Mats with the algebra tiles to build expressions. Homework-problems 2-29 through 2-33
Classwork - problems 2-12 through 2-16. Do 2-16 in your spiral!
